Breakfast in a Mug Recipe

A healthy breakfast in a minute? Absolutely!

Our fresh free-range eggs and about 60 seconds are all you need to cook a delicious, healthy breakfast that will power you through your morning. Our Breakfast-in-a-Mug recipe is faster, more cost-effective, and far healthier than a drive-through meal, and simple enough for budding chefs to cook all by themselves.

Tools & Ingredients

  • Microwave-safe mug
  • Fork
  • Cooking oil (I use an oil sprayer filled with olive oil)
  • 1 Egg
  • Salt and pepper
  • Paper towel
  • Tasty Options: Experiment with breakfast meats and veggies.

Directions

  1. Lightly coat the inside of the mug with cooking oil.
  2. Crack the egg into the mug.
  3. Use the fork to break the egg yolk, and stir it up a little bit. (Unless you want to risk and egg explosion in your microwave!)
  4. Salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Cover the mug with a paper towel.
  6. Microwave your egg mug for 45 – 60 seconds.
  7. Carefully remove the mug from the microwave, and slide your egg onto a slice of toast.

Tasty Options

Add any of these options to your breakfast mug. The more ingredients you add to your mug, the longer it will take to cook the egg all the way through:

  • Crispy crumbled bacon or breakfast sausage
  • Crumbled Feta, Parmesan or Cheddar cheese.
  • Torn fresh baby spinach leaves.
  • Diced tomato
  • Diced avocado
